How are police medals engraved

Engraving for Police Service medals is as follows:

  • The King's & Queen’s Police Medal: The recipient's name, rank, and force are engraved on the rim of the medal. 
  • Police Long Service and Good Conduct Medal: The recipient's name and rank are engraved on the rim of the medal in impressed capital letters. 
  • The Police Service Medal of the British People: The recipient's name is engraved in the reverse of the medal.
